@swatiparekhji You are a good child to your mother. Thanks so much for sharing. I hope you also get the help you need to take care of yourself. Your own health and well-being is as important as your mum's. Take care and feel free to share here in our community forum, ok?

RE: What should I do if someone came up to me to say that they are at the brink of committing suicide?@emiedecastro For me, I would really consider the faith and the belief system of the person before saying anything God-related. I totally agree with what you said about encouraging medical/professional advice though! And I'd add, we need to listen - really listen - to our friend and try to look at things from our friend's perspective and not our own.posted in Mental Health

RE: What does it mean to support our community?@lynnchan I love what you shared, Lynn. There is a marked difference between listening to understand and listening to reply. It is good for all of us to learn to listen more and accompany our loved one in what they go through as a way of showing our care and support.posted in Mental Health

RE: Has COVID-19 affected your mental health?@emiedecastro Love what you said about gratitude! Making the conscious choice to be grateful has really helped me get through some tough days. When it comes to worrying, I find that sometimes I tend to worry about things beyond my control (like this pandemic), and it makes me feel utterly helpless. But I've found that sometimes coming up with small actions I can take (like doing my part to be socially responsible) and trusting that everyone is doing the same (if not more) often helps me put my worries to rest, or at the very least calms it down. Sending lots of love to everyone trying to navigate this crazy times! <3posted in Mental Health

RE: Begging - to give or not to give? That is the dilemma@emiedecastro Thanks for sharing, Emie! I like how you've customised your giving so as not to be taken advantage of. You inspire me to be creative in the way that I give to others. Thanks so much for that!posted in The Better Traveller
